Participants will be able to sign their babies’ names into the book for the ceremony, buy t-shirts, work on a craft with children who are attending, sign the banner and write their babies’ names on ornaments for the trees in the walkway. The brief ceremony will begin at 12:45 pm, and will conclude with the reading of the babies’ names. We will then walk together, and return to the front of the hospital.

Hackensack University Medical Center will continue its tradition of “walking to remember the steps you’ll never take” during the annual Walk to Remember, a special service to honor the memories of babies who died as a result of miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, genetic disorders, stillbirth, or newborn death. A memorial service preceding the walk will consist of songs and readings by family and staff members in attendance, as well as a banner display of decorated fabric squares created in memory of loved ones.
Please join us for the Walk to Remember on Sunday, October 4, 2015. We will meet at 1:00 in the municipal parking lot directly across the street from the Suffern Post Office (1 Chestnut Avenue in Suffern, around the corner from the intersection of Chestnut and Lafayette). The 3/4 mile walk will begin at 1:30 sharp, and will end at the entry courtyard of Good Samaritan Hospital. There will be a brief ceremony highlighted by speakers, music, the memorial tree dedication, reading of the babies' names, and a balloon release. Families are encouraged to stay after the ceremony and connect with one another while sharing light refreshments.
We're getting ready to walk in March for Babies! It promises to be a fun day out with people who share our passion for improving the health of babies. There'll be family teams, company teams and people walking with friends - it's a great feeling knowing we're all helping real families.
